Holiday in the Wildschoenau
For me personally, the Wildschönau means coming home. Typical Tyrol but a lot quieter than the Zillertal further away. If you want fewer people but still want the beautiful mountains and the nice atmosphere, then the Wildschönau is also something for you. The Wildschönau is a relatively unknown valley, a branch of the better known Inntal. From Wörgl you can easily drive up. The Wildschönau consists of the villages of Niederau, Thierbach, Auffach and the main village of Oberau. There is also Mühltal, but this village officially falls under Oberau. In the summer there are plenty of hiking opportunities. The Schatzberg, Markbachjoch, Rosskopf and Gratlspitze are ideal for long walks. A recommendation is the Wasserweg, right at the back of the valley.
Winter sports in the Wildschönau
There is also plenty to do in the winter. Well-prepared ski slopes ensure that you have plenty to do as a winter sports enthusiast. Today, the Wildschönau is connected to the Alpachtal on the other side of the Schatzberg. Under the name Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, the region makes itself heard.
Wildschönau as a base
The Wildschönau is extremely suitable as a starting point for a holiday in Tyrol. Within a short time you are in Innsbruck, or you walk through Mayrhofen. Even the Krimmlerwasserfalle is a good day trip. In short, for those who want to experience Tyrol, including village festivals, music bands, hiking tours or the winter sports feeling: the Wildschönau
