Well prepared for the holidays
Booking and planning a low stimulation holiday can sometimes be quite a challenge. Especially if you are going somewhere you have never been before. You can prepare very well, but sometimes it can still be disappointing. To help you be prepared, we have put together 5 tips especially for you.
- Find a peaceful accommodation - This will be your base for the rest of the holiday, so it is important that you can recharge there from all the stimuli.
- Try to go on holiday outside the school holidays - If you have school-age children, this is difficult, but if you have the opportunity, it is highly recommended.
- Opt for less touristy places - The Alps have a lot to offer. Even in places that are less popular. It tends to be quieter which automatically makes it less stimulating.
- Alternate stimulating moments with moments of rest - Sometimes stimulating activities are great fun, even if they are very tiring. Plan your day or your week so that you have time to recover from those stimuli.
- Prepare well before you travel - Make a list of what you need to bring and start packing a few days or even a week in advance. Book an accommodation for the road, if necessary. Check the exact location of your holiday address on a route planner, such as Google Maps, to avoid search stress. Also check out where you can eat in the evening and where the supermarket is for your groceries. Less stress means more rest and fun for the holiday.
Keep in mind that these tips are not foolproof, but with them you increase your chances of having an enjoyable, low stimulus holiday. Not everyone experiences stimuli in the same way, so it is important to see for yourself what does and does not work for you.
