Col Raiser
At the back of St.Christina / Val Gardena you will find the Col Raiser cable car. This 8-seater cable car, built in 2008 takes you from 1556 metres to 2106 metres in about 6.5 minutes. The first version of the cable car in built in 1963, then in 1988 they completely rebuilt and modernised it to the requirements of modern times. In 2008, the seilbahn had its latest renovation.
The ride on the Col Raiser track in itself is not very special. The scenery, on the other hand, is very beautiful. Once you arrive at the top at the Almhotel Col Raiser, in summer you find yourself in an amazingly beautiful, green landscape with views of the Seiser Alm, the Langkofel and the Furchetta. As the mountain station is not quite on top of the mountain, it is nice to take a walk towards the summit of the Seceda (2,519 m). The area around the Almhotel is ideally suited for taking beautiful walks. There are plenty of destinations you can reach, such as the Rifugio Firenze/Regensburgerhütte or the Malga Pieralongia Alm. Of course, before you go for the hike, check whether the Alm or restaurant in question is open. The phenomenon of Ruhetag is also known here.
Seceda
As mentioned, it is worth visiting the summit of the Seceda. From here, you have beautiful views. These include views of the worn back of the Furchetta and the Sass Rigais. The Dolomites at their best. To reach the summit, you can use the Fermeda chairlift. The walk to the chairlift is very easy and basically just goes downhill. So if you are not a big climber, it is definitely doable. From the Almhotel Col Raiser, walk towards the Baita Odles, a restaurant located directly behind the Almhotel. To the left of the Baita Odles runs the path towards the Fermeda chairlift. Don't feel like going back via the Col Raiser? Then take the Seceda cable car to Ortisei / Sankt Ulrich.
