The new mountain railways at Hirschegg

On 12 January 2017, the time had finally come. The new mountain lifts at Hirschegg, the Ifen I and Ifen II were officially inaugurated under festive circumstances. The new mountain lifts are part of a major project to modernise the Ifen ski area. A total of 40 million euros was put into the area by Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen ski company.

The company Doppelmayr supplied the two highly modern cable cars. They are of the D-Line type and each cabin can carry 10 people. Consideration has been given to seating comfort where legroom, among other things, is very important. And along the way, you can check your ski or hiking route by WiFi.

Ifen I and Ifen II cable cars

Both mountain railways Ifen I and Ifen II can run separately, but they can also be connected. So on a busy, winter day, you can go all the way from the valley station to the mountain station in one go.

A grand opening also took place at the mountain station, and that was of Tafel & Zunder restaurant.  It is located above the cable car station. The restaurant has a large terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains and serves good and healthy meals.
