Good hotel in Obsteig
The Familien Landhotel Stern is the accommodation I visited during my visit to Obsteig. In my opinion, the choice in Obsteig is not that big either but to be honest, the hotel completely met my expectations. The hotel is a real family hotel but it is very large.
Especially for people with children, hotel Stern is highly recommended. There is a special playroom where children can have a good time while parents enjoy the peace and quiet.
Rooms My room was very neat, spacious and clean. I got a room on the top floor above the entrance of the hotel. The room has a balcony but this is a balcony that runs the entire width of the building, which you have to share with all the other rooms. There are no partitions between the rooms.

Breakfast Finding a place to have breakfast was a bit tricky. Normally, you either sit down somewhere or get assigned a seat, but in this case it was a bit unclear. There were name plates on all the tables so I just started looking for my name. After walking around a bit (there are quite a lot of tables) an employee asked me if I was looking for something; yes my table. She then took me to another part of the hotel and installed me in an empty spot, which had a completely different name on it. Breakfast was otherwise very good. The sandwiches were nice and fresh and the selection of toppings was large. There was yoghurt, fresh orange juice and boiled eggs. The latter probably because it was Sunday, because unfortunately there were no eggs on Monday.

Dinner The atmosphere in Hotel Stern's restaurant is very pleasant. Even though the hotel is very large, you don't get this idea when sitting in the restaurant. The service is very clean and helpful and the food is very good. To make a good comparison between the various restaurants, we check the schnitzel everywhere. The schnitzel was tasty, not much breadcrumbs and the fries were crispy. You can't complain about the price at all. An average dish costs around €12. For €20 per person, you have a main menu, some drinks and a dessert.

Staff As for the staff, you just have to hit it off with them. The person who checked me in was very nice but the following evening I met a receptionist who was not too keen. Because I had to get up very early on the day of my departure and no breakfast was offered at that time, a packed lunch was prepared especially for me. I found this packed lunch back in my room in the evening, very neat.
