Karlskirche
The Karlskirche in Vienna is a Roman Catholic church. Construction of this remarkable building began in 1715. As soon as you are near Karlsplatz, it immediately catches your eye. A church with a beautiful large dome and 2 columns. A visit to this church is more than worthwhile. What stands out inside are the beautiful murals.
What is so special about the Karlskirche? Well, you can take an elevator all the way to the top. The lift goes all the way under the dome. From there, you have the option of visiting the dome via a number of stairs. Especially for people with a fear of heights, this is a real challenge. Ten years ago, I visited the Karlskirche and made an attempt to go up the stairs, but after two floors I couldn't take it anymore and went down in a hurry. This year, we visited the church again and made an other attempt to go up and succeeded. At the top of the dome, you look out over Vienna. Furthermore, you can enjoy the beautiful murals up close there.
