1. Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

The village of Lauterbrunnen is located in the Swiss canton of Bern, in the Interlaken district. The name of this place actually gives it away; in this valley you can find no less than 72 waterfalls, some of which are visible from the village. It is therefore the ideal place for a romantic bike ride or hike to find all the waterfalls. The village itself is surrounded by mountains and rock faces, making it an impressive place to stay.

2. Ribčev Laz, Slovenia

Ribčev Laz is a small village in Slovenia, located on the beautiful Lake Bohinj. The area is breathtakingly beautiful, with a small church on a crystal clear lake, surrounded by high mountains. You can take beautiful walks here, swim and enjoy the view together romantically from a jetty in the evening.

3. Alagna Valsesia, Italy

4. Bonneval-sur-Arc, France

Bonneval-sur-Arc is a small village in France, located in the nature reserve Parc national de la Vanoise. This stone village with slate roofs is sometimes called the most beautiful village in France. In winter, the roofs are covered in thick snow and in summer, you are greeted by lush flowers. This is a beautiful place to spend a romantic time in all seasons. You can take fantastic walks here and in winter, enjoy skiing on the quiet slopes.

5. Mürren, Switzerland

Murren is a car-free mountain village with breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The village is easily accessible by train and has a quiet and romantic atmosphere. You will find picturesque wooden chalets, cozy restaurants and a cable car to take you even higher into the mountains. It is especially beautiful in summer, when the flowers on the balconies and in the gardens are in full bloom. It is an ideal place for a romantic stay, where you can enjoy both nature and the fantastic view.

6. La Grave, France

The village of La Grave is located in the Romanche Valley and is especially popular with mountain climbers and extreme skiers. The surroundings are truly beautiful and from the village you have a view of the La Meije mountain and the Les Ecrins chain. It is a perfect place for couples who love peace and quiet and hiking in the rugged mountains.

7. Misurina, Italy

The mountain village of Misurina is located in the Italian province of Belluno and offers a fantastic view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen). The village is located on the beautiful, clear lake of Misurina, where you can enjoy a romantic sunrise or sunset together. Perhaps a bit strange; the entire 'village' consists mainly of hotels. So you will mainly encounter tourists here, but the place is more than worth spending a few nights.

8. Alpbach, Austria

The village of Alpbach can be found in Tyrol, Austria. In the summer, this is called the most beautiful flower village in the country and let's be honest, what could be more romantic than flowers? The traditional wooden houses with balconies full of colorful petunias and geraniums, contrast beautifully with the green meadows of the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy hiking and mountain biking here and in the winter it is a good ski area with several options.

9. Hallstatt, Austria

Hallstatt is a well-known village in Austria, along the shore of the Hallstätter See. It is not that big, but has a unique appearance, with small streets and picturesque houses, situated on a slope along the water. It is definitely recommended to rent a small boat and take a romantic trip on the lake together. Please note; Hallstatt has become very touristy, so it is better not to plan your visit during the busy holiday period.

10. Mittenwald, Germany

The village of Mittenwald is located in Bavaria, Germany, near the border of Austria. The village is located in a valley, in the middle of the mountains and therefore offers the opportunity for beautiful hiking, climbing and cycling tours. What makes the village so special and romantic are the beautifully decorated houses! Especially in the historical center you can find many murals. Stroll together through the shopping street and sit down on a terrace, to enjoy all the beauty in peace.
